Lupine - Russell Strain Mix

Gardener’s Notes: Sow directly outdoors in early fall, in average garden soil (hard winter areas, sow very early spring). Plant seeds 6 inches apart and ½-1 inch deep. Keep moist until seedlings appear, this may take 2-8 weeks. Foliage rosettes of 5-7 leaves will develop close to the ground and overwinter that way. In mild early spring weather, lupines will actively begin growing and quickly bloom. Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost using small individual pots to minimize root disturbance during transplant. Hasten germination by scarifying the seed or soaking for 24 hours before planting.
