Gardener’s Notes: In early spring when weather is still cool, sow seeds 1 inch apart in lightly-amended soil with good drainage. Cover seeds lightly and keep seed bed moist while germinating. When seedlings are a few inches tall, thin to stand 8-10 inches apart. Bushy, strong-blooming plants grow to 18-24 inches and are drought-tolerant once established. Water around the plant, without getting the leaves wet.
